I really enjoy Huo Shan Huang Ya. I have already ordered it twice. It is a particularly refreshing tea. The color is gold. The tea leaves look as though I have raided an alfalfa field, but luckily the taste is wonderful. It is quite a delicate tea and one has to make sure not to brew it longer than necessary, and also not to make it too weak. However with a bit of attention I have got it just right and really enjoy it. Since it is picked in spring I am looking forward to the new 2016 Huo Shan Huang Ya.

I am very satisfied that I tried also this one. In my opinion, it is a very good yellow tea.

This batch of Huo Shan Huang Ya is at its best yet - i started putting more leaves to one cup because i can not get enough of the taste - in a good way!

I first discovered Yellow tea in 2007 when I purchased it from another company. It was also Huo Shan Huang Ya. I looked to buy more and found that Teaspring offers this tea - only it is available at its freshest, from latest harvest. Excellent tea - light coloured liquor might fool Black tea drinkers (like I used to be) into thinking it is not a "strong" brew, until they taste it. The taste is full-bodied and fragrant at the same time. Very satisfying!

Not the best tea for me. Taste is a bit too strong...

I was in Huoshan, Anhui (2010) and drank the huang ya fresh from "bush". This tea brought back wonderful memories! Great aroma and a lingering, subtle, sweet aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

Not my personal favorite, a very smoky flavor. Overall excellent quality.

Great tea at a really nice price! Refreshing and tasteful!

A very smooth and light tea with taste of sweet corns. In-between a white and yellow tea taste profile. Some smoky presence as usual of most yellow teas which is not distracting at all. After taste is pretty good that lasts quite long.

This is the first time I tried Huo Shan Huang Ya. Small appearance of white tea leaves, the taste is light and sweet.

I find this tea tastes best when brewed in a gaiwan. The sweet flavour and aroma seems to shine when brewed this way. I found the flavour rather dull and unimpressive when brewed in my small glass teapot. Iīm not sure why that is. Maybe the gaiwan seals in the flavour and aroma more? Anyways, It really does have a sweet corn-like flavour. Thatīs where it lost a point--I donīt like corn. It gained itīs points in the quality and the smooth flavour. This tea is definitely worth trying. It pays off to play with different brewing methods and vessels--makes it fun and different each time.

It was so very fresh when it first arrived, I donīt know what happened but it may have been the way I stored it. The freshness and flavor soon went away.

This is my favourite tea to drink in the morning. It has a complex aroma and taste and is very fresh.

I was disappointed by this huang ya, as in the past I have tasted delicious huang ya, but this one was very mild. Too mild. I also believe the stated brewing time is far too low. I would recommend close to four minutes.

    Matthew (4/3/2012)

As perfect as always. Itīs my favorite tea. Little bit sweet, smells like summer evening.

Замечательный чай, хорош на каждый день, как утренний вариант. Отличается от зеленых чаев, рекомендую попробовать.

When i sip for the first time this tea, a wonderful aroma spread out. Very good tea

I was expecting a little bit more from this tea after i read the presentation. This is a tea without personality,a bit to grassy ,regular green tea.

    Adrian (9/12/2011)

This is a very interesting one, reminds me a bit of other yellow teas Iīve tried, but with notes of corn and citrus. A good solid aftertaste.

    Terje (5/24/2011)

Now this is weird tea! Taste is herbal, like some weird potion of a tribal shaman. Qi is quite strong and awe-inspiring. This tea is slightly frightening, but definitly an interesting drink.

    Jesse (5/3/2011)

Interesting yellow. The aroma is grassy and green tea-like, but the flavor is mild and mellow (more yellow tea-like). The dried leaf is very fresh and substantial, which I believe are basket-fired. Overall, I find the tea sweet, smooth, with some very subtle fruity aftertaste notes, with a mellow full butteriness. A relaxing yellow-a nice change of pace to the greenīs. Highly recommended!

Long lasting chestnut aroma. No bitterness but very refreshing. A good tea to drink in the morning.

it is a real deception for me. i was expecting a very good tea, and i have no satisfactions

    Ricardo (5/11/2010)

Huo Shan Huang Ya is a great, but slightly bland yellow tea. I personally prefer stronger teas, try this if you like green tea but arenīt a fan of the grassy taste.

    Shaun (2/11/2010)

Excellent tea. Smooth and sweet. My new favorite! Just made a reorder.

    Michael (1/22/2010)

A smooth and delicious tea that has a wonderful aroma.

    Jeffrey (1/17/2010)

This is a very complex tea, vegetal, sweet, and buttery smooth. No hint of bitterness of any kind; it’s just a great tea to have every day.

    Daniel (10/26/2009)

A delicious and refreshing tea. lovely and sweet. I recommend this tea to all who like white or yellow tea.

    Jenni (9/17/2009)

Very nice tea. It has a very delicate and sweet taste and aftertaste. This tea will definatelly stay in my favorite tea collection and i will order more. From this very moment I am Huo Shan Huang Ya addicted tea drinker. :)

    Andrei (7/9/2009)

A mild flavour yellow tea that is easy to drink. My preference is a stronger brew therefore prefer Jun Shan Yin Zhen evne though the price for it is much higher.

    David (7/7/2009)

Very good yellow tea. It has gingery apricot and peach flavor with a nice vegetal aftertaste.

    Ryan (6/10/2009)

I am delighted with delicious tea, and with all the teas I ordered. I highly recommend TeaSpring for anyone who would like to purchase tea from mainland China. The teas arrived in very lovely packaging, which were clearly marked by product in both English and Chinese---delightful!!! I ordered two of many of the teas to give as a birthday gift to my brother who has been drinking Chinese tea for 30 years. He is very happy with the gifts.

    Markov (3/5/2007)

A tea that deserves careful brewing and savoring. Mild but penetrating flavor.

    Jennifer (1/4/2007)

Delicate, almost citrus flavor in this tea.

    Jennifer (1/4/2007)

Not terribly satisfying to me as a white tea. It has too much of that boiled vegetable aftertaste. If you like that kind of thing in green teas, maybe you’ll like this tea.

    Jeff (9/28/2006)

nice and tender yellow tea, has a light and sweet taste as a good yellow tea should have !

    Alexander (1/18/2006)

    Excellent

    GIOVANNI (12/26/2005)

It was the first Yellow tea I tried and it was truly stunning. A peppery smooth taste and a very good aroma. A must try for anyone interested in Yellow teas.
