    DescriptionRating & ReviewBrewing GuideRecommendations
Dry leaves are greener than the photo. Subtle floral fragrance in the dry leaves and the brewed cups. Some chestnut taste but not as apparent as in more expensive Long Jing´s. The brewed leaves have rough broken pieces, compared to higher quality LJ´s that have more perfectly picked leaves, but nevertheless they are still very fresh and tend to float. Color of brew is very clear and pale. Lasts about three infusions, but is rather weak by the third. This Long Jing has a lovely delicate and complex flavor profile- with a sweet and smooth taste, pleasing mild vanilla-floral-orchid like fragrance, without any extremely harsh flavor notes. Highly recommended for the inexpensive and fair price!

I bought this because I was shopping anyway, and I had recently become curious about Dragonwell. I found it wasn´t really a tea for me, unfortunately.

Cel mai bun ceai dintre toate pe care le-an baut pana acum.Recomand tuturor.

This was my first order from TeaSpring.com. Most of the teas I ordered were those I was familiar with and had knowledge of enjoying. I decided to include the Long Jing, even though I had never had a green tea I liked. Well, things have changed! This tea was delicious. Rich flavor with no bitterness or grassy taste I had experienced with other green teas. I steeped three infusions (could have done more I believe) in a glass infuser pot at 175 degrees - 1 minute - and drank every drop, savoring the experience. I will drink this one very frequently. I can´t wait to try the other teas I purchased, and will provide my reviews when I drink them.

I liked this tea. Very good with nice rebrew. A good everyday cup of tea.

    Michael (1/22/2010)

A nice bodied tea with a fresh sweetness, perhaps not as nuanced as more expensive varieties, but enjoyable all the same.

    Jack (12/21/2009)

Excellent tea with a flavor that persist up to the forth infusion.

    Adrian (12/10/2009)

A tea that often in my thoughts is "The Tea". Very good in quality/price factor.

    manuel (11/18/2009)

A very good tea for every day use, with a balance nutty flavor, witch makes it my favorite every day tea.If you compare it with the much more expensive long jing teas you will find that is not such a big difference as the price suggest.

i like this tea and his beautiful leave appearance and aroma.Very good quality leafs, terrific taste

    costel (10/19/2009)

I was a bit hesitant to buy a green tea so late in the season, a good six months after it was harvested. I can´t say for certain that my fears were well founded, but I´m not liking this Long Jing as much as I did a few months earlier. Even after using plenty of leaves, I still can´t get very much flavor out of this tea. The aroma of the leaves was rather lacking in that chestnut-buttery profile that I was so please to discover earlier. I will try to play around with my brewing parameters to see if I can improve my experience. I´d much rather it be me than the tea that´s a let down!

    Vuong (10/14/2009)

A fantastic choice at a great price, definitely worth buying.

    Christine (10/10/2009)

Although only the first infusion is really great, while subsequent ones are quite weak, this is still a superb tea.

    Christine (10/10/2009)

Superb value, ranks up there with some of the more expensive West Lake Long Jings. I love it!

    David (10/4/2009)

This is my everyday, go to Long Jing. As a long jing fanatic, this is perfect for me because I drink so much!

    David (10/4/2009)

It´s a really good Long Jing for your everyday cup of tea. Sweet aftertaste, beatiful light yellow color. I don´t about higher grade Long Jings, but this is certainly very good.

    Erikson (9/29/2009)

excellent as always. i would never hesitate to buy this affordable example of long jing. great to introduce anyone to true green tea

    John (9/22/2009)

The leaves are beautiful with a lovely fragrance but once brewed its a bit of a disappointment. Only able to get one satisfactory infusion. Following infusions are either too weak or over-steeped. Perhaps a fresher batch would have been more satisfactory.

    bonnie (9/8/2009)

excellent averyday long jing. more nutty and less flowery than some of the finer versions but an superb cup nerver the less. excellent for its price

    Sergio (7/17/2009)

This is my favorite green tea! Excellent tea I would recommend.

    Brad (7/2/2009)

This was an excellent buy for me. It´s not the top grade of this tea, so it´s probably not as balanced, delicate, or subtle as the higher grades. However, since "subtle" and "delicate" teas just taste like lukewarm water to me, I´d much prefer paying less for something more straightforward. This Long Jing is still very light, typical of a Chinese green tea, but it has a distinct aroma that´s easy to like (what the site describes as Chinese chestnut?). The tea leaves are a bit darker and yellower than I´d like green teas to look, but that didn´t seem to hurt the infusion. All in all, a good tea given my expectation & preference.

    Vuong (6/19/2009)

For the price it´s very good, it would have been a perfect rating but the taste wasn´t as good as last years´.

    Daniel (6/19/2009)

My favorite green tea of all. This tea never stops to amaze me!

    Erik (6/9/2009)

Not quite as good as I expected, after reading the previous ratings.

    Trent (6/6/2009)

Toasty long jing stands out from other greens, but somewhat lacking in its vegetal properties until later infusions.

    Brenton (5/14/2009)

Of all the green teas, this is my favorite. Excellent taste, great quality, extremely longlasting.

    Erik (4/14/2009)

The tea smells good, the price is well deserved for such good quality. I am surprise for its freshness in such long-distance

    Hong (4/12/2009)

Truly a good tea, this basic Long Jing. I liked a lot the nutty flawor! It´s also very simple to brew ;)

This tea is just fine. Not very good for the second infusion.

    manuel (2/9/2009)

The smell and the color of this tea are very fresh. It is even better than the Shifeng longjing considering the price.

    Yaqin (1/19/2009)

Excellent! Sweet taste with very strong chestnut flavor. Great for the price.

    Fan (1/17/2009)

Great, simply great, with that price tag I have nothing bad to say.

    Daniel (1/1/2009)

My everyday tea. Subtly sweet, a pleasant touch of nuts in the nose and cup, and a smooth finish that lingers without overstaying its welcome.

    David (11/13/2008)

Good but not outstanding oolong, pleasant for everyday drinking, but doesn;t have the fleeting sweetness that´s present in the better grades.

    David (11/8/2008)

Have nothing new to add. Great nut flavor. Great taste.

    Milan (11/5/2008)

Amazing as always. I just can´t get enough of this tea!

    Erik (10/30/2008)

I can´t add much to whats been already said about this tea. Just great value for money. A good long jing - you wont be disappointed.

    Thomas (8/26/2008)

Amazing tea! Has a very exquisite taste and a wonderful aroma

    Erik (8/21/2008)

I bought this ´08 Early in the season and was impressed. I believe it is finer than last year.

    Chad (8/7/2008)

Well I bought it as a gift and they were happy. This is my favorite green tea.

    Milan (7/1/2008)

Terrific bargain. Leaves are nicely formed shiny spears in the Long Jing style, but a bit larger than with the finer grades. Lots of sweet, nutty green flavor hear--just don´t over steep. Don´t overbrew, and it also gives a nice qi lift and more pleasant gan than most less expensive teas. My favorite afternoon tea at the office.

    Claud (6/13/2008)

Great value. Very good long jing. Keeps me alert all day.

    William (6/4/2008)

Impossible de trouver dans une boutique de ma ville un thé Long Jing de cette qualité. D´une attaque légère, il se révèle d´une longueur exceptionnelle en bouche. Conjugant douceur et caractère, son goût et reconnaissable entre mille.

    alix (5/31/2008)

Not much else I can say about this tea. I keep buying it because I want to always have it in my house. enough said.

    John (5/22/2008)

Excellent Long Jing. It even support little bit of over seeping. Pronounced taste of nuts.

    Milan (5/20/2008)

This is a very nice tea. Aromatic and rich taste, mostly chestnut and with a sweet aftertaste. My 2:nd or 3:rd favourite tea.

    Oskar (5/15/2008)

I ordered 50g of this tea the first time. I was so pleased, that this time I ordered 100g. But I was really surprised with this order. The Long Jing I received now has all the qualities I liked, but it has a yet stronger flavor, and an really sweet taste! This is the tea I drink everyday, and it´s awesome!

    Erikson (5/13/2008)

I like this tea a lot very earthy taste to it but still refreshing and a tinge of sweet

    john (5/13/2008)

Satisfactory as usual. Can´t go wrong with Teaspring´s supply of Longjing.

    Michael (4/21/2008)

The 2007 Spring Long Jing was lovely. I have had better examples, but this one was charming with good chestnut presence and a lively aroma. A good deal. I have bought the 2008 and will report after tasting.

    Chad (4/11/2008)

thank you Irecived the item well. and in time i haven´t tried it yet but i am sure i will enjoy it

    Eva (3/24/2008)

Drink this tea is like travel in first class! Grat tea!

    manuel (3/20/2008)

I have tried the more expensive Ling Jing at this site and was disappointed. I really enjoy the strong flavor and especially the aftertaste of the basic Long Jing. I rate it as good, I´m still looking for the execellent. If you´re interested in light flavor then spend the extra money the other ones.

    Miguel (2/28/2008)

I try to always have this on hand because its a great tea for at an affordable price

    John (2/28/2008)

My absolute favourite green tea so far. It is fantastic in taste and smell and uses almost no leafes per brewing. Each portion lasts up to four amazing brewings and it never gets bitter. A tea for gods!

    Erik (2/22/2008)

Might just be the batch, but this reminds me more of the over-roasted stuff they sell at Wushan Square.

    Brenton (2/14/2008)

This Longling tea tastes very good compared to the Longjing I bought from local store. It is more fresh.

    Junying (2/7/2008)

This is a fine tea but has to be used quickly while it is fresh to taste it at its best.

    David (12/29/2007)

A good tea to have for guests who can appreciate tea. Very good for its price.

    Marc (12/17/2007)

excellent as always. I buy a lot of it and I drink it whenever i can

    John (12/13/2007)

Even though this was the cheapest Long Jing on this site, it is still a very good tea. I like its lovely fragrance and that rich taste that only high quality Chinese greens have.

    Oskar (12/2/2007)

Arrived on time, excellent flavor, a wonderful purchase.

    David (11/30/2007)

Good stuff. See below for my detailed review of this Long Jing.

    JT (11/23/2007)

It is a very good tea. Specially for this price. The tealeaves are whole green leaves. It is very easy to make tastefull tea with these leaves. Just add the amount leaves you want (the more you put in, the darker it gets) and let it rest for a few minutes.

    Annemarie (11/21/2007)

A very good everyday Long Jing. I’ve tried other varieties from different vendors and this one is the best so far for the price. I get about 3 infusions using a gaiwan. Nice aroma and very little astringency compared to others I’ve had. I find myself craving this in the morning for my first cup of the day.

    JT (11/19/2007)

Sweet and flowery taste with a nutty flavor. Good tea for every time of the day.

    Jana (11/18/2007)

One of the better teas. It actually has a different taste on the second and third cups.

    Vincent (11/1/2007)

Really good. Is my first Long Jing in which i find the carateristic taste of "chestnuts" so present. Very high quality.

    Nicola (10/4/2007)

I enjoy Long Jing tea and this is one of the best ones I have tried for the price. Clean and good aroma.

    David (9/16/2007)

Nice as usual. Long jing from teaspring does not disappoint.

    Michael (9/11/2007)

Let me start out by saying that last year’s may have been a little bit better because it was harvested during the first harvest whereas the 2007 lot was not. So, I think a touch more smoothness in last year’s standard long jing. Be that as it may, I still unhesitatingly rate this 07 lot at five stars. The aroma is abundant and beautiful. The flavor is very thick and delicious. First steep at 60 secs it is on the lighter side. 2nd and 3rd develop a wonderful full mouth taste. The taste of the tea has this very distinctive underlying sweetness that is really wonderful. The color of the tea is really nice too. To top it all off, the price isn’t exorbitant. A great long jing experience.

    Ryan (8/26/2007)

im still going back to it... it gets me going in the morning and my limited budget also enjoys it.

    John (8/21/2007)

Very pleasant Long Jing, good value for the money. Not exceptional, but with clear character of the tea, including light green-yeallow color of the liquor, a slightly sweet taste, barely seen "fuzz" in the cup, and a slight but pleasing aroma. Should be drunk quickly.

    David (8/19/2007)

I’m new to the world of tea, but I must admit that, so far, this is the best tea I’ve ever drunk! I have already drinked Long Jing tea bought from a (very expensive and poor quality) local store. I paid a lot less for this one, and this Long Jing, even being TeaSpring cheapest, is really, really good. When you open the pack, a strong, nutty smell. There are few leaves broken, and it brews beautifully. The nutty taste is very good, and it has a really sweet aftertaste. And after you drank your cup, your mouth gets fresh! Strongly recommended!

    Erikson (8/14/2007)

This is my favorite everyday tea. Creamy & sweet with a scent of hay and fresh mowed lawn.

    mark (8/14/2007)

Good tea as usual. I have yet to find a better source for long jing.

    Michael (7/4/2007)

This tea is very good. It has a kind of nutty flavour, which I enjoy very much. I highly recommend trying this one out.

    Erik (6/28/2007)

This is my favorite everyday tea. I cannot get enough of it! It’s superb!

    mark (6/21/2007)

At this price, this is a very good Long Jing tea. Great chestnuts flavor, it has been my everyday tea since 2006.

    Wei (6/20/2007)

This Long Jing is so approachable and good, I have made this my "everyday LJ." A great price point for this tea, it would be difficult to find a better value in Long Jing.

    Chip (6/12/2007)

This is my second long jing. first from this vendor. I have bought "dragonwell" teas on the street. they have nothing in common with this long jing. the aromas of the dry leaves and especially the vapor of the first steeping are sweet. the flavor is somewhat nutty with fruit overtones. it relaxes the palate.

    William (5/31/2007)

A good inexpensive Long Jing. A great everyday spring tea.

    mark (5/25/2007)

This is my everyday tea. I only put good because I judge other teas, better or worse, based on it. but i know i can always rely on it, cause its good!

    John (5/25/2007)

Very Quick Shipping This Time. Thank You! The Tea Was Good As Usual. No Complaints.

    Michael (5/21/2007)

The delivery was very slow this time, but the tea was good.

    Michael (4/21/2007)

    good everyday tea

    John (2/22/2007)

Just as good as the last batch. Very happy with the quality.

    Michael (1/31/2007)

Great quality! The King of all teas!

    manuel (1/21/2007)

Good enough for me to order another 200g after my first cup.

    Michael (1/16/2007)

Love it, green tea at its finest. Can’t wait for my next cup, mmmmmm.

    Frederick (1/9/2007)

This is my first Long Jing. It’s delicious. The dry leaves smell like chestnuts, the tea has a nutty taste, with a sweet aftertaste.

    hannah (12/18/2006)

Long Jing lovers: get this while you can. The 2006 crop is by far the best I’ve tasted: not a hint of overfrying; the leaves are a beautiful, light yellowish green; and the liquor is exceptional. I keep my fingers crossed that 2007 is as rewarding. In the meantime, I think I’m going to stock up.

    Christine (11/21/2006)

My very favorite tea. Hard to go wrong with this one.

    Christine (10/7/2006)

At the advice of a friend, I reduced my brew time to one minute. Wow what a difference that makes for this tea. The earthiness I experienced is replaced with the sweet nutty character of a very good Long Jing.

    Chip (9/1/2006)

At first I was a bit put off by the "nutty" taste and aroma, but I have come to like this tea quite a lot. Nice geen infusion. Like other reviewers, I find this tea is good for up to 3 infusions, at 180 degrees (slightly hotter for 2nd and 3rd infusions). Not recommended for everyone, but should be tried. Very relaxing. John (7/6/06)

    John (7/6/2006)

I find myself reaching for this one all the time. You simply cannot go wrong with it as an every day tea. This year’s offering is excellent.

    NEAL (6/5/2006)

This spring’s crop is just fantastic, with the right amount of orchid-like flavor and barely a hint of chocolate aftertaste--my every day tea.

    Christine (5/25/2006)

Very nice full leaf set appearance consisting of 2 leaves and the bud. Nice greenish leaf vs. brownish appearance indicating good production quality. The flavor is not as complex and is more earthy/nutty when compared to Bai long jing, But it is rather pleasant and certainly not elusive as Emperor long jing. A rather robust but pleasant brew that will give 3 nice infusions.

    Chip (5/12/2006)

After some experimenting with this leaf I found that a temp of 160 and a brew time of one minute makes a very nice cup of tea. Very smooth and soothing. Good for warm weather or any time.

    Ryan (4/15/2006)

    Very good dragonwell characteristics. Recommended.

    Christine (3/23/2006)

Aromatic with slight sweet after taste,A hint of chestnut
