| Jin Mei is one of the three famous Wu Yi green teas together with Qu Hao and Xue Ya. Mount Wu Yi is renowned for its many Oolong teas, but before any Oolong teas were produced there, it was actually famous for its green teas. Today, only 6% of its total production is green tea while Oolong and Black teas made up the rest at 80% and 14% respectively. Wu Yi Jin Mei is a very special tea that you will not easily find even in the vast tea market in China. The production of this tea is very limited and they are usually fully pre-ordered by a few large tea houses in Shanghai and Wu Yi. In 1999, Wu Yi Jin Mei won the "Zhong Cha Bei" or Chinese Tea Award competition that was held in Hang Zhou, Zhejiang province. This Jin Mei tea that we carry is the highest grade. Other names: Mount Wu Yi Golden Eye Brow Taste: This tea has a smooth mouthfeel while the taste and aroma is sweet with very floral notes. Appearance: The tender tea leaves are so finely rolled that you would be surprise when they unfurl back to their normal size during the infusion. Each rolled tea leaf is as fine as a strand of hair. Because of this, it is easy to misjudge the amount of tea leaves to be used, so try to refrain from using too much tea leaves. The liquor is greenish yellow in color.
